Kris is an Ottawa native, and graduate of Carleton University. He began in the financial services industry over 40 years ago and has built a solid reputation as an insurance professional designing and implementing solutions to protect and maximize wealth, while minimizing taxes. His expertise extends to both individual and corporate wealth protection strategies, and is built upon a solid and thorough understanding of the products and suppliers available in the marketplace.
Kris earned a BA in Economics from Carleton University, and is currently designated as a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (CH.F.C.). In addition, Kris holds the coveted Trust and Estate Planner (TEP) designation, and has previously held the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Kris has been a longtime industry volunteer, promoting the value of professional advice. He is a Past National Chair of Advocis, the Financial Advisors Association of Canada, and Past National Chair of the Institute for Advanced Financial Education. He served six years on the national board of the Financial Planners Standards Council, and is currently the National Chair, Regulatory Affairs for Advocis. Kris was the inaugural recipient of the J.G. Taylor Award, a national award recognizing outstanding contributions to both industry and community, and has received the John Goebbels Award of Merit form the Ottawa chapter of Advocis.
Kris has demonstrated an enduring commitment to community involvement. He has served the United Way as a member of the Campaign Cabinet, on the Board of Directors, and is the founding Chair of the Ottawa-Carleton United Way endowment fund and recipient of the prestigious Community Builder award. Kris also served for ten years as a board member for Christie Lake Kids, including 3 years as president.
Currently, Kris serves as the treasurer of the Charlotte Birchard Centres for Early Learning, and is chair of Tawingo Alumni Circle, the alumni association for Camp Tawingo.
With over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, Kris has an intimate knowledge of constructing tax and cost effective solutions for clients, and he makes his expertise available through mentoring and consultation with all of the firm's financial advisors.
Kris’ passions include coaching minor hockey, which he did for 25 years, with two former players joining the NHL. He is married to Nancy, a retired school teacher and has two children and two grandchildren.
